A "great" review is one with the name of the cigar before the review
text in the body of the post. :)

"Delayed Gratification Technique" == Saving some for later. Personally I
found this never worked right unless you blew off the carbon from the
previous smoking.

To do: Knock off old ashes, hold flame on burned portion, blow gently
until yellow flame disappears, then light. Much better.

Delayed gratification technique Elaine. Seldom used with cigar(s), more often with pipe. Smoke some, set down, pick up, re-light, smoke some more. I'm totally weird in many aspects but on the day mentioned, still had near 1/2 left of the 6x42. After brunch, out on back porch with newspaper, re-lit the gar, no negatives. Finished same down to near the nub.

Thanx for wondering

I think Banacek smoked possibly a Don Diego or a Montecristo. I think Hannibal smoked a Connecticut Valley Farms.

Who is Banacek? I know who Hannibal is but I honestly don't remember him smoking cigars in any of the movies though he might have smoked a thigh before dining on it.

Had a couple Fleur de Selvas, and a Davidoff Nicaraguan. I remember when they came out they were a bit more flavorful (flavourful for Alex) and less unidimenable. It's a pricey cigar for me but I have one more to smoke and we'll see. I don't need another $28/cigar in the rotation. Even for one of Bernie's SOs.

Glad to see you are aware of the Queen's U!

Had a trial Nicaraguan Davidoff, and I must say I was deeply
unimpressed. It was not at all hard to resist buying more.

The exception would be the Primeros: Nicaraguan leaf, hand-rolled
longfiller and a really decent 15-minute smoke for when the weather
doesn't appeal to anything longer.

The first one I had a couple of years ago was great. I bought 2 a few weeks ago and they were lack-luster. I can't believe they screwed up this vitola.

Might it have been a shopkeeper/storage issue? Would be sad, indeed,
to see the brand go South...

Also: Did you change your name to Melanie? Man, and people give *me*

Gee... I've never had... well the Davidoff Nicaraguan I have and if'n it was a $6 or $7 stick it would have been a pretty dang't decent cigar. For the price you pay though for the name Davidoff you can get way far better cigars but regarding the Fleur de Selvas, Gee I've never **hint hint** had any **wink wink** of those before.
